Located 4200m up in the mountain, the famous UNKAI terrace from the summer season turns into the Terrace of Frost Tree during the winter.
As you take the Unkai Gondola up to the terrace, the mysterious and spectacular view of frost trees appears in front of your eyes. ‘Frost Tree' is a magical phenomenon where the mist in the air coats the trees in a sparkling frost in this -2 to -10 degree Celsius environment.
The shimmering contrast of the blue sky and the white frost is something you have to experience for yourself! On a sunny and clear day, you might be lucky enough to observe the ‘Diamond Dust’ (tiny ice crystals in the air which sparkle like diamonds).
