In Winter, Lake Kanayama turns into an endless white wonderland. Located in Furano (in central Hokkaido), which is another popular ski / snowboard area, Lake Kanayama and the surrounding areas offer a wide variety of winter activities.
One of the most well known activities is Wakasagi (pond smelt) Ice-fishing. You can rent everything you need in terms of fishing gear and equipment right at the lake and can also enjoy your catch cooked up tempura-style!
Enjoy also the unique experience of walking on the frozen lake to take in the spectacular surrounding scenery.
Tours from the resort include transportation both ways, meet at the GAO Outdoor Center to participate.
