To ensure a seamless experience for all guests at UNKAI Terrace, we are introducing a priority reservation system for the UNKAI Gondola boarding time starting from the 2026 season. Reservations open at 5:00 PM on the day before your visit.

A sea of clouds can also be seen in the direction of Higashi-Taisetsu. Enjoy the refreshing morning air and the mountain scenery while watching the clouds move and taking in the spectacular view of the sea of clouds. The clouds in the sky are also enhancing the view from the terrace, and refreshing air is enveloping the Sea of Clouds Terrace. We recommend taking a stroll around Cloud Nine this morning. There is almost no wind, and the outside temperature is 14℃, so it is a little chilly. Please come dressed in warm clothing that will keep you warm.

The Tomamu area will experience cloudy skies, with a high likelihood of fog. Clouds will spread around the terrace area, and you may be enveloped in them at times, but there is a chance of seeing a sea of clouds from the Pacific Ocean when you emerge from the clouds. The temperature in the early morning will be around 12 degrees Celsius, so it would be a good idea to bring a long-sleeved jacket. Also, since it is likely to become foggy or drizzly when you are inside the clouds, a waterproof jacket is recommended.

Cloud Cafe

A spectacular cafe located at an altitude of 1,088 m, just up the UNKAI gondola.

Climbing Mount Tomam

From the gondola station, which provides access to Unkai Terrace, to the summit of Mount Tomamu, a 50 minute (round trip) trail with an elevation difference of 150 m and a distance of 600 m.
